On January 18th 2020, the Black Students’ Association, Black at Rotman Commerce and the National Society of Black Engineers at the University of Toronto will be hosting the second annual Black Career Conference. It will be a day of development, networking and recruiting and it is the best place to learn from Black professionals and prepare for your future.
The Black Career Conference will give students who are traditionally underrepresented and underserved the opportunity to learn from and connect with professionals from a wide variety of industries. The conference will create an environment resisting these barriers and match high level diverse talent with companies within their respective industries.
The day will begin with professional development workshops that will provide students the opportunity to learn from successful professionals in a setting allowing for inquiry and conversation. The workshops will span across industries including:
- Management Consulting
- Visual Media
- Asset Management
- Investment Banking
- Broadcasting & Literary Media
- Graduate Studies
- Non-Profit/International Development
- Government and Politics
- Health and Wellness
This is a black prioritized event. In the weeks leading to the conference, we will run resume reviews, and workshops that will prepare students to engage with professionals and create meaningful connections.
We aim to create inclusive spaces and will not tolerate hatred: NO SEXISM, NO RACISM, NO ABLEISM, NO HOMOPHOBIA, NO CLASSISM, NO TRANSPHOBIA.
