What do you get when you pull together a group of underestimated entrepreneurs, a Grammy award-winning producer/artist who is launching a tech startup and, arguably, Canada’s best Haitian Chef? A delicious breakfast filled with equally delicious conversation.

On Wednesday, September 26, Innovate Inclusion, in partnership with Elevate Tech Fest and KPDI hosted an exclusive breakfast with Wyclef Jean for 30 entrepreneurs. The discussion ranged from specific challenges that come along with being Black in tech to personal tips for successful goal setting.

Inclusivity was top of mind for this event. We chose to move away from the traditional breakfast offerings of bagels and eggs for a Caribbean fusion. Chef Lissade, owner and operator of Black-Apron Events, whipped up a traditional Haitian breakfast that included Tarte a L’oignion, Sweet Plantain, Haitian Patties, and Creamy yellow corn grits cake.

For everyone who couldn’t make it out and those who want to re-live the fun, follow us on social media and so you can see photos and videos of the event.

If you are an entrepreneur or work in the world of tech and would like to take part in future events, please sign up for a free membership. Be sure to follow us on social to keep up to date on all of our opportunities.
